Day 7 — Eat More Leafy Greens

February 11, 2019

We created the 10-day Self-Care Challenge to remind you of simple strategies that you can use to prioritize yourself and help clients better. Fueling your body with dark leafy greens is never a bad idea, in fact, it’s a great idea! For day 7, we challenge you to eat more leafy greens.

Why leafy greens?

Leafy greens, especially dark leafy greens, are jam-packed with nutrients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Iron, Calcium, Magnesium, B vitamins, and antioxidants. They are especially good for reducing stress, balancing blood sugar, improving sleep, boosting your immune system, balancing your mood, controlling your weight and so much more.

Dark leafy greens we love are spinach, microgreens (aka sprouts), kale, arugula, collard greens, and swiss chard.

Here are some fun facts to remind you of why you’re eating your leafy greens today! Eating just 1/2 cup of spinach counts for one of your daily servings of veggies. (psst, there are 2 servings in the smoothie recipe below!).

Here’s a delicious Green Smoothie recipe to try today:

  • 1 cup spinach or kale
