Quick Start Checklist

Six steps to a seamless setup — designed to save you time and keep you focused on what matters most: your clients.
Build Your Profile
Your profile helps clients understand your qualifications and services, setting the tone for a professional experience.
How to complete your profile:
  1. Go to My Practice > My Profile
  2. Add your details Fill in your professional title, designation letters, credentials, time zone, and currency.
  3. Write a bio Let clients know your expertise, specialties, and approach.
  4. Upload a profile picture — Click the green avatar box to upload an image from your computer.
  5. Save your changes Click “Save Changes” to finalize your profile setup.
💡 Everything you add here will be added to your profile page and will be visible to clients with access to the Client Portal

Keep your schedule synced
Syncing your calendar ensures appointments don’t overlap and that your availability is always up-to-date.
How to connect your Google Calendar:
  1. Go to Settings > 3rd Party Integrations.
  2. Click Link next to Google Calendar, then follow the prompts to sign in and grant access.
  3. Select calendars to integrate with Practice Better these will show in My Schedule > My Calendar.
  4. Choose your sync options— Decide whether to sync events and availability back to Google Calendar.

Streamline payments
Secure payments make it easy for clients to book and pay, and for you to manage transactions seamlessly.
How to set up Practice Better Payments:
  1. Go to Settings & Preferences > 3rd Party Integration.
  2. Under Billing & Payments, click Set up next to Practice Better Payments.
  3. Enter your business details – including your entity type and bank account information.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete your setup on Stripe and return to Practice Better

Simplify client intake
Creating a form allows you to collect essential client information, including intake details, consent, and more, ensuring smooth onboarding.
How to create a form:
  1. Go to My Practice > Forms & Waivers.
  2. Click Create to start a new form or select from pre-built templates.
  3. Add questions using the Form Builder, such as name, contact details, health history, and any other relevant information.
  4. Customize and save – Add sections, questions, and signature fields as needed, then save your form.

Define your services
Setting up services lets clients book specific sessions with you, whether it's one-on-one consultations or group sessions.
How to create a service:
  1. Go to My Practice > My Services.
  2. Click Add Service and choose the One-on-One or Group Service option.
  3. Fill in service details – add a name, description, and any payment requirements.
  4. Set availability and configure booking restrictions, buffer times, and other details to tailor the service to your needs.

Test the experience
Using a test client helps you understand the client’s experience and see how things look from their side before going live.
How to add a test client:
  1. Go to My Clients and select Add Client.
  2. Enter your own information (using a secondary email you can access).
  3. Choose Create profile and invite client to join Practice Better.
  4. Open the email invitation and follow the instructions to activate the test client account.
💡 You won't be able to view both your practitioner portal and the Client Portal in the same browser window, even if you're using separate tabs.
