Can clients message me directly through the portal?

Yes. Once clients activate their accounts, they can message you directly through the Client Portal. Communication is HIPAA-compliant and encrypted, ensuring privacy and security. You can chat from the Messages page or Messenger tab, send attachments or voice notes, and manage conversations easily. You also control messaging preferences and access in your settings.

Can I send group messages to clients?

Yes, you can send group messages to clients in Practice Better with our Professional, Plus, or Team plan. Group chats let you share updates, resources, or reminders with multiple clients at once, while keeping communication HIPAA-compliant and encrypted.

Are messages encrypted end-to-end?

Yes. All messages in Practice Better are encrypted end-to-end, ensuring your conversations remain private, HIPAA-compliant, and secure between you and your clients.

Can I attach documents or protocols in messages?

Are messaging notifications available on mobile?

Yes, messaging notifications are available on mobile. Just go to Settings & Preferences > Notification Preferences in the app, make sure Instant Alerts are enabled, and allow notifications when prompted. Restarting the app will ensure your settings take effect.

Can I restrict messaging to business hours?

Absolutely. You can restrict messaging to business hours by adjusting your Availability & Messaging settings. This lets you control when clients can reach you, ensuring boundaries are respected while keeping communication secure and HIPAA-compliant.

Do clients need to download an app to message securely?

Clients can message you securely right from the Practice Better Client Portal on their computer. Communication is HIPAA-compliant and encrypted, with providers controlling access. Clients also have the option to download the Practice Better mobile app for convenient, on-the-go messaging. Instant alerts are available on Android, Windows, and Mac—but not on iPhone or iPad due to Apple restrictions.
