How a Dietitian Achieved Better Client Success

January 26, 2024

As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Lydia Nader’s dream has always been to help athletes reach their dreams through inspiring and sustainable nutrition. Focusing on endurance athletes, like runners and cyclists, she started her business, Fuel with Nader, using nutrition as a tool to support athletic performance. She also works with non-athletes, addressing weight loss, gut health, hormone balancing, and more. Lydia shares with us how working with both Practice Better and That Clean Life have helped her achieve work-life balance and better client success.

Bridging the Gap: Finding the right tools for better client success

Lydia observed a significant gap during her nutrition training – there just weren’t enough practical tools to help clients actually make the dietary changes they needed. Recognizing that people often struggle to implement healthy eating habits despite knowing what nutritional practices to follow, Lydia started working with Practice Better and That Clean Life to bridge this divide and offer her clients more comprehensive solutions.

Practice Better facilitates goal-setting, recommendations, and reminders for accountability. Meanwhile, That Clean Life adds a layer of customization to the meal plans and recipe collections, tailoring them to meet client needs.

Using software to maximize time

Lydia initially managed everything on her own without a client management system. She relied on Google Docs and Excel, which led to a lot of administrative work. She quickly realized the need to be more efficient with her time and work smarter, not harder.

After exploring several different meal-planning software options in 2019, Lydia chose That Clean Life. She was impressed by its efficiency and the fact that it was clear and straightforward, meeting both her needs and the needs of her clients.

Creating individualized meal plans using That Clean Life

Lydia was investing too much time in crafting personalized meal plans for athletes, and her expanding client base meant there was no room for scale.

The Bookmark feature in That Clean Life completely streamlined the process of creating weekly meal plans by providing quick access to athletes’ specific dietary preferences, nutritional needs, and allergies. Lydia also uses bookmarks to address particular needs or symptoms. For example, if an athlete is both underfueling and vegetarian, Lydia can quickly apply the ‘underfueling’ bookmark and add the ‘vegetarian’ tag, streamlining the process and providing more customized options without the need to adjust settings manually each time.

Lydia also creates personalized recipe books for her clients by using the Collections feature, offering them a set of recipes instead of a traditional meal plan. It’s not only beneficial for her clients, but it’s also a handy tool for creating freebies and attracting athletes with quick and easy solutions. This becomes a convenient way to compile recipes tailored to each client’s preferences.

Simplifying client communication with Practice Better

Lydia’s other main challenges before working with Practice Better were scheduling, client communication, and organizing clients’ personal information. She knew she needed a centralized communication platform.

Finally, an opportunity to grow

By collaborating with Practice Better and That Clean Life, Lydia has surpassed her initial expectations and grown her business. The efficiency and personalization provided by these software tools have enabled Lydia to make the most of her time and effortlessly develop customized meal plans. As a result, her clients have enjoyed an enhanced overall experience, and Lydia herself has experienced an improvement in her own quality of life.
